Please consider clay shrinkage
The listed dimensions are the size of the tool, i.e. the wet clay. Clay shrinks during drying and firing, usually around 5–15%, and the final size of your piece always depends on your own clay and firing temperature. For example, with a 10 cm size and 12% shrinkage, the finished piece would be about 8.8 cm. Please check your clay's shrinkage before ordering and choose the size accordingly.

Make a Celtic-style pointed-arch tealight holder from clay slabs with this five-piece set. The tall arch forms the back panel, the half-round base holds the tealight, and the recessed panels in the arch can be filled with glass frit for a glowing, stained-glass effect.

The set includes: a pointed-arch cutter (approx. 158 × 121 mm), a half-round base cutter (approx. 121 × 95 mm), a tealight stamp with handle that presses the candle recess into the base, and two press tools that shape the recessed panels in the arch.

How to use: roll out an even slab and cut the arch and the base. Press the two panel tools into the arch to form the recessed panels, and press the tealight stamp into the base until its flange meets the clay – it leaves a straight-sided recess with a neat bevelled rim. Join the arch upright to the back edge of the base with score and slip, and smooth the seam.

Glass frit firing: fill the recessed panels with glass frit and fire the piece lying on its back, so the glass melts and settles evenly in the panels instead of running down.

Sized for shrinkage: the tealight recess is 46 mm wide before firing, so a standard tealight (approx. 38–39 mm) still fits comfortably after about 10–12 % clay shrinkage. Final size always depends on your own clay and firing.
